HOME the great oak grove, an ancient and secluded druid grove that's hard for outsiders to find, and even harder for them to become part of. laenaya is a daughter of the grove, born there to a long linage of grove leaders.

HAIR auburn in colour, naturally very wavy. often worn back in elaborate braids, decorated with flowers and leaves, when amongst her people. when out adventuring her braids are more simple in nature. worn loose when making camp.

NOTABLE TRAITS kind, compassionate, and optimistic, with a high level of confidence and a nature that can sometimes verge on reckles. laenaya likes to see the good in people, even if it isn't always so clear on the outside, but this has lead her to be a little too trusting too easily. she will always try to resolve a conflict with words, but will jump headfirst into a fight when needed. a deep believer in doing what is right she will be quick to answer a call to help. originally somewhat naive when she first left her grove, as a quick leaner she soon became accustomed to the new world around her. her bravery is often noted by those who she has met.
LIKES the start of spring, when all the flowers are in bloom and nature feels at it's most full. the sparkle of snow when it coats the ground. the smell of freshly baked sweet treats that feed her sweet tooth. gaining knowledge of something once unknown to her. conversing with people and animals she meets on her journey.

wild shape. an ability all druids possess, but that is sacred amongst the people of the great oak grove. while in learning each child is taught that their spirit defines their wild shape. it allows the animal inside, be it bear or badger, to come forth. laenaya's spirit shape is a wolf with auburn fur, her go to shape when in combat. however, this does not mean that all other wild shapes are closed to her. she can pick her shape at will depending on the needs of her quest, but will default mostly to her wolf form.
animal companion. accompanying laenaya on her travels is a small, brown elf owl called aelfey (pronounced like alfie). the great oak grove is home to owls of many different breeds and sizes, many of whom consider the druids friends, but this little one became quickly attached to laenaya and so when the time come for her to leave on her own journey, little aelfey went too. he happily sits on her shoulder, chirping away and accepting any food given. his size allows him to fly ahead of the travelling party undetected to see what dangers lay ahead, and his sharp beak can prove useful in combat - only when laenaya deems it safe, of course.

BIOGRAPHY.
laenaya had always had a thirst for more then the mundane. for excitement and adventure; to see the world beyond the trees that surrounded her home. her mother, the leader of an ancient and secluded druid grove, had never understood. why would you want to see the world, my flower, when you have everything you could ever need right here? the great oak grove, named for the tree that has served as their centre and their protector since it's founding, had stood for centuries. hidden away from the hustle of the outside world, only ever accepting in few outsiders, they have thrived. passing their knowledge and their magics from generation to generation. no one born to the grove has ever left.until laenaya.she had tried to do as her mother said. to be happy in her home. she learnt their ways from the elders and walked the path of their people to find the spirit within, the animal that would most often be called upon in her wild shape; the wolf. yet, it wasn't enough. the spark of curiosity only grew until it became an inferno, consuming all her thoughts. her mother had warned her; if you leave this place you may never find it again. it was a risk laenaya had to take. with a pack of rations and quarterstaff in hand she left the comfort, the safety, of her home and ventured out in the world unknown. for many years she travelled from place to place, learning about the cities and communities that had just been out of reach all her life. she made friends, travel companions, who fought side by side as their adventures became more and more perilous. still, she often thought of home. of how what she had learned could help them, could improve their way of live and make them stronger. after years on the road, it was time to return home.laenaya returned to the woodland of her birth a stranger. the road in which she had left her home had been lost to the grass and the weeds. she waded through overgrown bush and fallen leaves, combing the trees for the vine covered gate that guarded the great oak grove. the further she traveled, the more she sensed that something was wrong. the forest that had always been lush, full of colour, and thriving with life, had started to deteriorate and die. green leaves had turned orange, flowers wilted with her petals shed, and the grass had turned brown and brittle. something had happened. finally, she reached her grove - to find that horror had awaited. the gates were burnt through, ash black vines laid at her feet. her once peaceful home, with houses made of bark and leaves, now stood as an ancient ruin. the pathways stained by blood and the bodies of their enemies. some of her kind had lost their lives in the fight, their graves fresh under the watchful eye of their old oak tree. it had showed the signs of a fight too, black patches darkening its bark where attempts had been made to burn it down. yet it stood firm, still keeping a watchful eye over what was left of her home. those who survived, her mother included, had fled to the unknown, any house that still stood abandoned, and laenaya knew them she would never see her people again.she stayed for a few days, mourning all she had once had, wondering if this had been her fault. if she had stayed she would have been able to help defend her home, and maybe they wouldn't have had to leave. the guilt almost ate her alive, until a shift in the wind. a message whistled through the ruins of her grove. you could not have prevented this, child of the grove. eye turned to the oak, still protecting the lost souls below, now offering that same protection to the lost daughter. you must go and find those who brought this horror to our home, make sure no others suffer at their hand, and bring your people home. she rose from the ground, dirt falling from her leathers, with a straightened back. only few had been touched by the words of their protector, her mother amongst them. it was the highest honour that could be bestowed upon their people, and laenaya knew she must obey. that she would leave her home again with the spirit of her people at her side, and she would succeed.if only she hadn't been taken by the mind flayers.

main. darcie the vampire slayer. using her slayer abilities darcie keeps her home, and sometimes the rest of the country .. and the world, safe from the demons that hunt huumans in the shadows. with the help of her handler, professor ivan, and her friends darcie somehow manages to maintain a normal life.
baluder's gate / dnd. half-elf ranger (favored enemy: undead) with a soldier background. raised by loving parents who were killed by a vampire during an attack on her village, just on the outskirts of baldur's gate. those who survived swore vengeance, soon becoming the largest and most organised vampire hunters in the land, and so darcie was raised with a stake in hand. now in her late twenties her mission remains; rid baldur’s gate of all vampires. particularly those who took the life of her parents.
vampire. an attack gone wrong. the upper hand lost. the stake that was supposed to protect her had slipped from her hand as fangs pierced the skin of her neck. friends, loved ones, believed her dead. buried her in a white casket under mountains of flowers. she awoke a few days later desperately thirsty, in dire pain as she clawed her way out of the earth. much thought hadn't been given to her first kill, not until later when she realised the truth it. hadn't been able to see her own reflection to notice the red of her eyes. not until she returned home, to the surprise to all who had buried her, and the truth became clear. darcie had become the one thing she was destined to kill; a vampire.
BIOGRAPHY.
they say she would found in a forest. a perfectly healthy one year old playing amongst the leaves and the twigs, with no idea of the tragedy that had befallen her. they searched high and low for any sign of her family. the forest combed for any hint of the people who and loved and cared for her, but not even a footprint was found.she was given the name darcie by her mothers. they had homed her while the search for her birth family was carried out, officially becoming her parents when the search was eventually called off and she was declared an orphan. matilda winters and arabella jones had been married for ten years. a chance meeting in a nightclub had been love at first sight. an american lawyer and a british pilot, who soon moved across the ocean to be with the woman she loved. darcie wasn't the first child to be put into their care, but she had dug so deeply into their hearts that they knew they couldn't let her go. she was four when they moved to the uk. matilda's dad was sick and her mother struggling on her own. grandpa winters died six months later, but the family stayed.darcie had a relatively normal childhood. they owned a small house close to the brighton beach front. she spent her days at school and her evenings with friends dipping their toes in the ocean. she was smart, well liked, and part of the netball and football teams. every summer, and every other christmas, they would visit america to see family, and she would always get the sense she was missing something. something right out of reach. there was a joke that she had a superpower, a sixth sense. darcie always seemed to know when trouble was coming, be it a football accidentally kicked in her direction or a car that would have hit if she had crossed the road a second too early. she was smart without trying to be, could remember something having only read it once, and was stronger then most of her friends. small things that made her feel like she stood out just a little more then the rest.she moved back to america for college. mama was so proud when the acceptance to dartmouth came in, and both her mothers made the trip to help her move. a bittersweet goodbye, that would only last a few months. none of them knew how much her life would change. first year passed with little trouble. darcie made friends, her roommate becoming her best, went to parties, and joined the soccer team. she declared a major in english and minor in history, and managed to keep good grades. second year had barely begun when she was attacked on the campus grounds. she had noticed him following, eyeing her like a piece of meat, and was ready when he leaped. keys where held between fingers, and she had slashed across his chest in what was supposed to be a warning . . he disappeared into dust, and darcie could have sworn she saw fangs as he did so.she convinced herself it couldn't have been. maybe she was sleep deprived and her brain was playing tricks. until it happened again, and a week later she was summoned to the counsellors office. he told her crazy things, that she was born a slayer, a protector of the people against vampires, that's why she had all those extra abilities, and that he was sent to train her. she didn't believe it at first, until the third attack happened some days later. when she wasn't studying for college, then she was training with professor ivan. she'll always remember the first time she held a stake. how right it felt in her hand, as if this was the thing she had always been missing.after graduation she became a slayer full-time, while struggling a regular job in a coffee shop to keep the rent paid. her parents didn't understand why she didn't put her degree to good use, she simply told them the job market was poor. darcie couldn't bring herself to tell them the truth. at least, not at first. she was 23 when a trip to help another slayer in north carolina lead her to find the truth about her parents. an older slayer had recognised her, had called her a name she had never known. rebecca helsing. daughter of harry and sarah helsing, the last living descendant of the first van helsing slayer. her parents, and the rest of their family, had died in a large and calculated vampire attack. it hadn't been known that she survived until the news of a little girl being found in the forest had broke, and then it was too dangerous for her to know the truth. now the truth had caught up to her.now in her late twenties darcie somehow manages to juggle both her lives. her 'normal' life as a publishing assistant and a slayer by night.

catriona was born into a happy home. her parents, angus and fiona, had longed for a child for years but had yet to have a successful pregnancy. their daughter was their miracle. they wanted her to have everything they did not. and so with little money to their name, with their home merely four walls that made up one room, they made the decision to sail for the new world. the had heard stories of those who had sailed and found good fortune; that's all they wanted for their daughter. they left scotland when she was still a girl. old enough to remember the home she once loved and the parents who cared for her.their lives were claimed in a shipwreck. she was lucky to have survived, though she was told. floating amongst the waves on a piece of wood, barely big enough to hold her small body. she was found by a pirate crew led by the captain lastlight. many a discussion was had about what to do with the girl. end her misery, sale her for gold, but ultimately she was kept as one of their own. raised by the captain as if she was his own. she was nicknamed redd by the crew, for the fiery colour of her hair.captain lightlark died when she was in her early questions. killed in battle, a true pirates death. redd expected a mutiny. a bloody fight to determine their next captain. it never materialised. her adopted father's body was sent to the depths of davy jones, his hat handed over to her. gaze met that of her crew, one by one, a smile upon their faces. she knew, then, they were sincere. they would follow her to the ends of the earth, as she was as trusted as her father before her. and so, from that day forth, she was known as CAPTAIN REDD.

the werryweather marriage was known to be an unhappy one. the lord albion had married the lady meridia ashford at his late father's insistence, as a way to unite two of the noble houses of the reach. love never blossomed. they tolerated each other, at first. attempted to make the marriage work to both of their benefit with one goal in mind; to secure their line with the birth of an heir. years would pass and there would be brief moments of hope, but an heir would never be conceived. meridia turned to drink, drowning her sorrows in cups of wine, while rumours swirled of her husband's unfaithfulness. the first child arrived in the dead of the night, wrapped in blankets and cuddled by a maid. a son, of all things, born of her husband's affair with a lady of house redwyne. alistar he was named and he was given to the care of the lady of the house, who despised the very bones of the infant. soon a second child arrived, the product of her husband's second mistress. he was less secretive with his third, and most loved, mistress occupying rooms in their home. she gave him three children, including kyra.five more bastard flowers would be born after the death of her mother, from three more mistresses.a curious child; it was said she could run before she could walk. chasing her maids around the vast grounds of the longtable gardens, her bell-like laugh caught in the winds. she grew to be a kind and compassionate lady, even under her step-mother's steely glare and sharp tongue. history books would claim her to be the favourite of her father's bastards. all ten were treated as children should, they were taught to read and write, and they were well fed and cared for. the oldest son even taught the ways of a noble house, in preparation for one day inheriting his father's seat. but it was kyra flowers who was often seen hand-in-hand or arm-in-arm with her father, paraded around the seats of the reach: a beauty on display. her mother thought of as his true wife, who might not have shared his title but who shared his heart.kyra was devastated to learn of his death. their house had declared for rhaenyra targaryen early in the war, and her father was imprisoned and, too soon, beheaded for refusing to bend the knee to the usurper king. her step-mother became lady of the house, though it was kyra and her sisters who maintained the running of her home. lady meridia having long been lost to the bottom of a bottle, she spent her days confined to her rooms. rarely to be seen by her husband's children. when the greens finally came to their home, lead by sir otto hightower, she yielded without argument. while no harm came to kyra and her siblings, they were left with very little. meridia died soon after, and the battle for the title of lord merryweather followed.

dyslexia. avery was diagnosed with dyslexia at age twelve. she was a smart child, who always seemed to know the answer but struggled to articulate what she wanted to say, write, or read. her english teacher was the only one to notice her struggles, and pushed for her to be tested. it was a relief to know that there was a name for what she was feeling. that she wasn't stupid, or lazy, or weird. she was assigned a private tutor when she moved schools, part-funded by the tuition her parents paid, who helped up her grades considerably and who taught her to ease her struggles. when it came time to take her gcse's avery earned mostly a's and b's.

born the second child to a nurse and an engineer, avery spent most of her childhood in her birthplace of manchester. the family lived what can only be described as a regular life. they had a house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one family car, and just enough money to allow for a mcdonald's after school once a month. sometimes her mother would take avery on weekend trips to the trafford centre, where they would wonder in and out of shops - their only purchase a treat from the foodcourt. her father would take her to football games at old trafford stadium, but only when a friend who worked at the stadium had tickets spare. it was a modest living, but one filled with love. what more could a family need?avery was thirteen when her life changed overnight. her father had been working on cars his entire life, trying to find a way to make them more sustainable and eco-friendly. finally he had succeeded, and with the backing of a rich sponsor he'd met at a football game, the taylor engine was born. it sold millions, being put into models of all the major car manufacturers. suddenly the family had more money then they knew what to do with.they moved to london the following year, in the summer to allow for their children a more seamless transition between schools. her mother quit her job, dedicating her time to charities instead. she would try to fit in with the london society wives, as her husband seemed to have no problems running elbows with the society men, but found herself shunned. her accent too harsh, her style too dreary. at their new private school the children were teased. whereas they once had groups of friends and days filled with laughter, they now only had each other, and even then classrooms were lonely places. her mother was determined to change this. what was the point of now having all this money if they could not enjoy their new lifestyle? and so she and the children were enrolled in elocution lessons, learnt to cover their northern accents, they bought new all new wardrobes, and learnt how to curate their social media channels. by the age of sixteen, avery barely recognised the girl she used to be.avery left sixth form to be on tv. never finished her a-levels or went to university, instead spent her later teen years on the set of a low budget cbbc show, where she played 'the best friend.' she hated it, and the show ran for three seasons. but it was enough to set her up in the industry. she got an agent, a good one, who would also become her lifeline. she jumped from project to project; a small part in an itv drama based on true events, a guest spot on eastenders, a supporting role in a big budget movie, she even played hermia in a midsummer's night dream at the globe, and yet her breakout never came.she was twenty-three when she was cast in her first major leading role, a film based on a very popular book with an a-list co-star. it was a whirlwind. her first time in la, shooting in locations across the world, being on the red carpet and doing interviews, and falling in love. she and her co-star dated during the creation and release of all three films in the franchise, and many attributed this to the success of their films. after all, what do audiences love more than a fiction love story? a real one. there were rumours of engagements, of houses being bought together, and even avery found herself believe them. waiting for a ring that would never come. he broke up with her over text after the release of their last film together. it had been fun, he said.he took five years of her life.now, at twenty-eight, avery's trying to reinvent herself. taking gritty roles, trying to prove her talent lies beyond that of blockbuster franchises. and she's done moderately well. the reviews for her last film had been mixed, though most praised her performance. her team have tried to push her back in the direction of what she's known for. but where's the fun in that? she wants to try new roles, tick experiences off her bucket list. to their credit, when she's said no they've stopped pushing. they've done what they can to get the roles she wants. so avery finds herself preparing for her west end debut, starring alongside the newest name to find their big break on netflix, in a retelling of the taming of the shrew.

a queen during the time of the empire. amani was elected to the throne of naboo at age 12, inheriting a position that had become simply a figurehead. the power of the queen had been stripped away by the empire, given to their own followers, and the newly crowned queen become merely a puppet. she was told where to go, who to address, and what to say. if the people of naboo dared to raise issues she was marched out to make a speech for peace - trust in the empire, she would be forced to say. and while she seemed the picture of composure to her people, behind the veil queen amani was deeply unhappy. furious at how her people were treated, disillusioned with her position, and desperately wishing for change. it was one of her handmaidens, a quiet girl whose parents moved to naboo from an outer rim planet, who told her of the underground rebel cells. citizens of naboo working to fight against the rule of the empire. from then, amani did everything in her (admittedly limited) power to help. she wasn't scared of the empire, didn't care what they would do to her if she was caught, but she worked in secret to protect those she was helping. but, in time, whispers developed. rumours swirled of a queen of who was, at best, sympathetic to the rebels and, at worst, a rebel herself. with renewed focus on her activities, and suspicious eyes watching her every move, queen amani abdicated her position after only one term. the next day she disappeared.some say she was killed by the empire, some that she retired to a outer rim farming moon, the truth was simple; she joined the rebellion. worked alongside mon mothma and the organas of alderaan to free the galaxy. she learned to fly, to fight, and to lead. following the defeat of the empire amani returned to naboo, and worked with leia organa to restore the power of the monchary. during this time she acted as interim queen, the oldest to have taken up the post at age 33, until a new queen was elected. at the end of her second term, amani followed in the footsteps of queens before her in becoming the new senator for naboo.

a padawan alongside anakin skywalker. like many before her, corde was taken to the jedi temple from her homeplanet before she could talk, her connection to the force manifesting from infancy. she grew up on coruscant, a youngling under the jedi master yoda until, at age 10, she became the padawan of jedi master lon baize. now in his later years, jedi master lon baize had been known to be fearless and daring. following a belief that rules were merely guidelines, meant to be shaped to his will. a belief he would pass on to his newest padawan.at the outbreak of the clone wars, lon baize and his padawan were given command of clone battalion 238, led by commander criss. now in her adult years, corde was ready to prove her worth. to undertake her trials and become a knight in her own right, however her master would continue to insist she was not quite ready. that though she was skilled and clearly well connected to the force, their lessons had not yet taken root. so she studied, and she fought, and did everything in her power to prove her worth. sometimes that meant taking risks, achieving incredible feats because she believed that she could, not always because she should.they were a year into the clone wars when her master died at the hands of a rogue separatist, who had managed to catch the jedis off guard. corde managed to catch the assassin, channeling her grief through the force to make sure he would not escape, and returned him to the jedi order. she was promoted to the rank of knight soon after, keeping the command of her clone battalion, and sent to help the battle on the ice planet of mygeeto. while there, she took her own padawan; a young twi'lek called nima teksa. they were still on mygeeto when order 66 was executed. scouting ice mountains to find enemies of the republic who had evaded capture. corde had sensed the shift in her clone battalion before the first blaster was fired, allowing her precious seconds to reach for her saber. her padawan was ordered to run as fast and far as she could, and do not look back! she fought them as long as she could, until the first blast hit her upper thigh. the second directly in the chest, sending her stumbling into a deep snow filled cavern below. she was believed dead for many years until she was found deep in meditation and preserved in ice by a grown nima, and her companion.

after the war. following the avatar's victory over fire lord ozai, the kyoshi warrior's were split into two fractions. those in charge of protecting the new fire lord, and those in charge of military defence. a third, unofficial fraction, would be established. the non-bender police force, trained to keep the peace amongst the smaller villages across their world. though not kyoshi warriors by name, these forces would be overseen by a kyoshi chef. eventually the force would join with toph's metal bending school, creating the police force seen in legend of korra. though the metal-bending police force where in charge of day-to-day policing, the kyoshi warriors were the final line of defence, protecting the city from large scale attacks. a new headquarters would be set up in republic city, close by the police academy, where suki would serve as their leader until her retirement, where she would be succeeded by her daughter.

writing betty has always keen a weaver of stories. even as a young child she would entertain her parents in their small living room with tales of brave knights and even braver princesses. she thought she would be a novelist, bringing comfort to others the way her favourite books once did for her. as a young teen she started to first her first (and only) book, a tale of a young girl finding her way in a fantasy forest. she could never get past the first few chapters, struggling to structure the story from the jumbled thoughts in her head. it stayed abandoned on her computer's hard drive.songwriting was a hobby she picked up in sophomore year of high school. a friend from choir shared her attempt at an original song over the lunch table, asking betty for her thoughts. together they created and recorded their first song, uploading it to their social media. it got a few views, some likes and comments, but wasn't career changing. songwriting was unlike her novel. the words and melodies seemed to pour out of her. it became a release. she sold her first song at 18 and released her first EP at 20, cardigan, at 20. a collection of songs that told the story of heartbreak. so personal in its pain that it led some to wonder if it might be somewhat autobiographical.
college. betty was accepted in NYU in her senior year of high school, moving to new york the summer after graduation. however, she only stayed there a year. after the sale of her first song, and the success it brought the artist who released it, her songs became in demand. across her freshman year of college she sold a further eight songs, and signed up to a record label. she moved home to santa monica for the summer, spending more and more time in the recording studio, and didn't return to new york when classes resumed in the autumn. instead she transferred to UCLA, graduating with a double major in english and music.

BIOGRAPHY.
originally named faye, she was the first child born robert baker and olivia ward. baker, a renowned english composer had met and married ward, an award winning american actress, after only three dates. a classic hollywood fairytale love story. however, unlike most, their marriage never ended in divorce. they were happy, blissfully so. olivia followed her husband back to england, where they purchased a million pound mansion in kensington, london, where they would raise their two daughters. both who, like their parents, found their passions in the performing arts. faye, the oldest, was an actor destined for the big screen, just like her mother, while her younger sister, hazel, had dreams of dancing on a west end stage. all their stories would end in tragedy.the night it happened was like any other. cold and dreary, a typical winters day where the rain was pouring and the wind howling. not the best night for a movie premiere, but robert had spent the last year working on the score and he could hardly miss it. the whole family were supposed to go, but in the end it was just three of them. robert, olivia, and hazel. faye had gotten into an argument with her mother that day. over something so silly, she would realise later, as a tattoo. her mother had been strictly against it, being very traditional in her ways. the two had ended up screaming at each other, hurtful words being passed around, until faye eventually packed up a bag and left to stay with a friend. that's where the police found her. where they break the terrible news. that there had been a crash - they were all dead.she remembers overwhelming grief. a feeling so all encompassing that nothing else mattered. people spoke to her, her friends and the police, but it was all a blur. as if it the world was spinning and she was standing still. all she knew is that she needed to leave, to get some fresh air before she suffocated. so faye ran, in the wind and the rain, until her legs gave out and she found herself hunched in a ball on wet grass. that was the last thing she remembered, before the world went black and she found herself in another place entirely. though - it was the same. the park faye and her friends used to spend countless summer nights, only the rain had stopped and the sun was out. she tried to return to her friend’s, assuming she had passed out in the grass, but found someone else living at the address. she had time travelled, back almost four decades, and had no idea how. she lived in that decade for a while, trying to blend in while desperately trying to return to her time. eventually, after almost a year, she managed to get a handle on her powers. returning home to the very moment she disappeared and, just like that, all her grief came flooding back too. as she stood in the rain, looking over at the police cars parked outside her friend’s flat, she realised something. that if she could go back and forwards in time - maybe she could save her family.and she tried. over and over again. she watched different actions play out, where she would convince them to stay home or take a different route, and yet it all ended the same way. with their deaths, though not always in the same way but always at the same age. still, there would always be side effects to her interference. like a domino falling, causing a chain reaction. breaking the laws of time over and over again just to bring her family back. it never worked. eventually she grew tired. couldn't bare to keep watching them meet their end, but faye also couldn’t go home to a live without them. so she used her powers for herself. bouncing from time to place, exploring everything the universe had to offer. from then on she went by a new name. iris. the purple butterfly.

gymnastics. chrissy has been taking part in gymnastics from a very young age. it's always been her mother's dream to see chrissy follow in her footsteps, especially when it comes to cheer, and so she was enrolled in classes as soon as she could walk. gymnastics, her mother said, would give her a good head start.she would learn technique and discipline. and chrissy loved it. she loved the routines, flying through the air on bars, learning how to do the most complicated of floor moves. from the age of eight she was enrolled into competitions and won quite a few, medals proudly displayed on her wall. however gymnastics took a back seat from the age of fourteen when she enrolled in high school and started cheer.

default. born in a small town in indiana, chrissy cunningham is the ultimate girl next door. smart, pretty, and friendly; it's no wonder that she's the neighbourhood's sweetheart. always ready to help out. to babysit, run an errand, drive to the pharmacy. but every smile hides a secret. a home life that she yearns to escape. a boyfriend she doesn't particularly like. dreams that she'll never get to realise, because everything in her life has already been decided for her. the only thing that chrissy can count on, that is real, is her best friend. banshee. she'd been having visions for weeks, catching her off guard with her mother's taunting words, her father mutilated and unable to speak, foods she wishes she could eat rotten and inedible. chrissy thought she was losing her mind. that the visions would, eventually, kill her. she was almost right.the monster that had cursed her, vecna, came to collect it's victim. long, claw-like, fingers reaching out to take her life. but something inside chrissy fought back. a side of herself she wasn't even aware of. a scream ripped from her throat, loud and unending. she watched as the monster battled to regain control, withering in pain as blood seeped from its eyes, ears, and nose. until, eventually, it collapsed. still and lifeless.the visions ended after that and chrissy thought she was free, until she started having black outs. regaining consciousness next to dead bodies, waking herself up with that same scream that killed vecna. eventually she met others like herself and found out what she had become: a banshee. super-powered. chrissy cunningham had been lucky. at least, that's what she was told. she'd been in the gymnasium when it happened, cheering on jason and the team for their championship game. had felt the ground shake, heard the screams as the school was engulfed in a fireball. the smoke an unnatural red. she remembers pain where she was burned. struggling to breathe, climbing up the bleachers and over bodies to try and reach the windows. to reach fresh air.she'd woken up in a hospital weeks later. the hawkins lab explosion had destroyed the entire town, with many residents missing or dead. the few that survived, the lucky ones, would never be the same again. one by one they started to manifest oddities - powers they never had before.it was exactly one month after the explosion that chrissy cunningham woke up with her body against the ceiling, floating of it's own accord. it took her most of the day to get back down. she could control gravity itself, manipulating it at her will. it started simply, maneuvering objects and making herself float. but over time, as she grew stronger and more proficient, she was able to make herself, and eventually others, fly.

spinneret version one: so high school. mary jane was used to moving around. jumping from place to place, city to city, making new friends and then saying goodbye. she was outgoing, good for a laugh, but held just enough of herself back. it's easier to leave when you surround yourself in mystery. no one ever got so close as to know her truths. the ending of the marriage between philip and madeline watson was not surprising for those who had peaked through the curtains. their relationship had been fraught. he had a tendency to lash out; verbally at first, but then physically. a boundary crossed, a daughter hurt, and the watson women found themselves on the doorstep of their kindly aunt anna. mary jane was 14, and she could tell this was different. that their stay would be an extended one. so she made friends, real ones this time, and let a precious few see past the party exterior and into her heart.she cared little for science. knew enough to get a decent grade, but held little interest outside of the classroom, and yet when peter dragged her to some oscorp exhibit she didn't protest. went along gladly, in fact, with a small group of their friends. she didn't register the spider at first, unusual in colour, as she posed for peter's camera beside some supposedly groundbreaking machine. it was only when she felt a sharp sting in her shoulder, hand batting away the creature on instinct, did she realise it had been there. little mind was paid to the occurrence at the time, until a few days later. she had started to feel strange, to manifest unusual abilities. it was only one friend* that she confided, who convinced her to do some good with her powers. they became her partner in crime fighting. helping mary jane become her alter ego with the design and creation of her costume and the additions of technology that would enhance and compliment her powers. and so, at age 16, mary jane became the amazing spinneret !*can be changed depending on portrayals.
spinneret version two: vigilante shit. queens had never been her style. mary jane had moved out of her aunt anna's house the day after graduation. took very little with her, as her new apartment couldn't fit much, and started a new life for herself. she was ready to become a star. sure, it would mean working in a dinner between auditions to make ends meet, but it would be worth it in the end. a story for her future biography. besides, she was confident it wouldn't take long to be discovered. the star of midtown high ! ready to be the new star on broadway.a year later she was still working in that dinner. still just trying to make ends meet. all her auditions coming to nothing.a trip to oscorp wasn't really her idea of a fun day out. a rare day to herself spent inside a stuffy lab instead of a theatre, but harry had seemed excited to show their newest work and so how could she say no? she spent most of the tour in her own world, lost to the scientific murmurings of her friends. in that way she had always been the odd one out of the four. her interests lying in the stage and screen rather than in science. they had helped her graduate with a decent grade, at least. it barely registered when they entered the lab working on genetically engineered spiders, the goal to recreate the powers of spider-man. she hadn't noticed the rogue spider that glided down from above, landing on her shoulder. barely felt the sharp sting of it's bite. not until she noticed the marks in the mirror that night, falling into bed with an overwhelming headache. the change was almost instantaneous. mary jane felt unlike herself the next day, manifesting unusual abilities as the day went on. just like spider-man, she realised that evening. it was the hero himself she sought out. who helped her learn to control her powers, who had told her that with great power comes great responsibility. and so mary jane became the amazing spinneret !*up to individual portrayals as to whether mj knows peter is spider-man.

FAMILY. even after her true family relations were revealed to the team she still referred to oliver queen as ‘uncle ollie’. he had believed in her more then any of her blood relatives, and that makes him family.
after wally's death. though artemis initially attended stanford, double majoring in english lit and human biology, it would be star city university she graduates from. after faking her death, and the real death of wally west, she chooses not to return to school and instead becomes part of the team full time. however, overcome with grief, she would make reckless decisions without regards for her own safety. a serious incident, that nearly leads to injury, forces her back into retirement. she uses the time to try and ger her life back on track, including regularly attending a therapist. it's there that she finds her new path, becoming a social worker so she can help kids like herself. who got dealt a bad start, with parents who didn't have their best interest at heart. she enrols at star city university, finishes her degree, and later completes her masters degree in social care, specialising in child welfare.

1814 season. mary sheffield's marriage to a man of lower status was one of the biggest scandals the ton had ever seen. the two had fled to india, where they had enjoyed many years of happiness with their two daughters. until he died, quite suddenly, of a short illness. kate, the eldest daughter, was only 21 at the time, but stepped up to bare the responsibilities that had once been her appa's. she cared for her family. helped in whichever way she could - even if it meant she had to swallow her pride. she had hoped the sheffield's would not wish to see their only daughter, and granddaughter, become destitute. but their help would come with stipulations; that edwina, kate's younger sister, marry a man of good english-breeding. knowing this was their only chance, kate convinced her family to return to london so that edwina may find a husband and, she wished, happiness. what she did not count on was viscount anthony bridgerton turning her entire world on it's head - and falling in love with him in the process. proposal au. alternate version of season two. after their stay at aubrey hall, and following daphne's discovery of anthony and kate alone in the library, it is kate that he suddenly proposes to instead of edwina. much to everyone's surprise, including her own, kate accepts. viscountess. after her marriage to anthony, kate becomes the new viscountess bridgerton and head of the bridgerton household. modern. she was the youngest gold medalist in equestrian history, being only 15 when she took to the olympic podium. kate's life had been dedicated to the sport, from the moment she had her first riding lesson. it had been all she ever wanted, all she ever worked towards. and her appa had been her biggest supporter. he had given up his well paying job in india, where they had lived since kate was three, to move back to london when she had been scouted by the olympic team. he had saved every penny so she could get the best training by the best coaches. and it was all worth it in the end. he watched when, at her second olympics, she took home a silver medal. but he would not live to see kate win her second gold, having lost a short battle with a sudden illness. but she never gave up, never stopped trying in his memory. now, with plenty of medals under her belt and turning 26, kate sharma is one of the most famous equestrians in the united kingdom. and the question remains; what will she do next?

HAIR. once it’s been cut it grows back very slowly. so much so that for a while they simply assumed it would not grow back at all. attempts were made to neaten her hastily cut bob when she returned to corona but no matter how much gel, cream, or spray they used the ends would keep curling back. in the end they gave up, which suited rapunzel just fine. she loves her hair the way it is for what it represents. freedom from the tower, the end of her time under the control of gothel, and the start of her new life with eugene and her parents.
HEALING. the healing magic that rapunzel possesses is more than just her hair. it’s part of her and, quite literally, runs through her veins. when queen arianna was healed, the magic of the flower infused with rapunzel. effecting her blood and organs. her immune system is extraordinary. she never catches any common illnesses (such as the flu or tonsillitis), however she’s not completely immune to all diseases. she is still at risk those most deadly and terrifying. her skin is almost impervious to cuts and bruises. though she’s not untouchable, major wounds do leave a mark but heal a lot faster than most. this is how she’s able to walk around outside with no shoes on, as her skin is hardened to any objects on the ground that may leave cuts. her skin is mostly free of any blemishes, she rarely suffers from acne or blackheads. though it has been known to happen once or twice. even after her hair was cut and it’s power lost, rapuznel still maintains her strong skin and immune system.
TIMELINES.
movie canon. following the story of the movie tangled. modern. she was taken in the dead of night, while her parents slept in their beds, by a neighbour. a lonely woman with no children of her own, who had grown obsessed with the child with beautiful blonde hair. they fled to america, where rapunzel lived a life of solitude. she was home schooled by her mother, with no contact with the outside world. their home had no television, no wifi, and only a landline phone. rapunzel never questioned it, never thought her life to be unusual, until one night would change it entirely. it was the eve of her eighteenth birthday and her mother had left her alone. away on a trip, an occurrence that had increased as her daughter had aged. a break in had been witnessed by neighbours, who had called the police. the young woman was found hiding in a wardrobe, shaking and scared. it wasn’t until the neighbours reported not knowing another woman lived in the house that they started to get suspicious, that they started to investigate the family of two. finding no trace of the daughter called rapunzel, and no family tie between the two. gothel was eventually arrested, interviewed, and imprisoned. the story of the "modern day rapunzel" became an internet sensation, the news story spreading across the country. and yet, they were still unable to find her birth parents. leaving the young woman to start a new life for herself. modern royalty. rapunzel was barley a year old when she was taken by her royal nanny. gothel had convinced herself, somehow, that the king and queen had taken what was rightly hers. so, in the middle of the night, she took the young princess from her cot and sailed across the sea. never to be seen again. rapunzel lead a sheltered life. she was homeschooled, banned from any contact with the outside world. their home had no cable, no television, and no internet connection. she was eighteen when she found out who she was. a neighbourhood boy broke into their home looking for treasures, unaware that there was a young girl living there. he helped her escape, took her to see the town she had lived in all her life but had never seen. they were sat in a diner, eating pancakes and syrup, when a viral documentary on the lost princess of corona started playing. a picture of the young princess with her parents popped up on the street and rapunzel knew instantly that it was her. the boy took her to the local police station (where he was arrested for his own crimes) and, after hours of questioning and a dna test, she was reunited with her parents. the boy’s crimes were pardoned as a reward for being home the lost princess. gothel was eventually found trying to flee the country (again) and was sentenced to life in prison. once upon a time. long ago in the enchanted forest a deal was struck. gothel’s help in enacting the curse in exchange for the return of the thing she loved most, the golden hair and the girl it belonged to. but gothel would never make it to storybrooke. rapuznel, however, would. for 28 years she was kept in the psych ward, with only her pencils and paper for company. the walls were covered in drawings. people, she thinks, who were from her past. who she could just about make out from her fuzzy memory. a woman with long brown hair who might have been her mother, a man with a full thick beard who might have been her father, and another man whose nose she could never get quite right. the only thing she remembers for sure is a name, fitzherbert. one day she’s freed, the door to her cell opens and she runs before anyone has time to figure out she’s gone. she’s on a mission to find out exactly who or what fitzherbert is.
once the curse is broken she starts to train as a nurse at the local hospital and, once magic arrives in stroybrooke, regains the power of her healing hair. baluder's gate. note: can be adapted to general fantasy. high elf cleric (life domain) with an acolyte background. high affinity for healing. raised under the religion of the sundrop (the belief that a drop of sunlight fell to the earth, from which all healing magic was birthed) since she was a baby. kept under the watchful eye of their leader, 'mother' gothel, she was never allowed to leave their home, despite her curiosities about the world. the overbearing and obsessive nature of their leader had rapunzel starting to question her devotion and on the eve of her twenty-first birthday she finally found rhe courage to venture from her forest home in search of new adventure, only to find herself on the mindflayer’s ship.- wears silver armour decorated with yellow-gold suns

- following the reveal that her religion was a ruse created by gothel to keep herself young through the magic of others, rapunzel finds solace in the goddess eilistraee. alternatively: becomes a bard. bridgerton. it was a mystery that made papers world-wide. a child, the daughter of a german nobleman who was not even a week old, stolen away out of her crib by a nursery maid. they had disappeared into the night, with all searches coming up empty and all leads exhausted. the child was gone, and soon the world moved on.
some months later a woman appeared on the doorstep of the earl of coventry. a former lover, with a babe in her arms. they were married before the week end, and the daughter named legitimate. 𝑴𝑰𝑺𝑺 𝑹𝑶𝑺𝑨𝑳𝑰𝑵𝑫 𝑮𝑶𝑻𝑯𝑬𝑳. later nicknamed rapunzel by her mother, for her long hair. the girl grew up secluded from society, hidden in the country with only her mother for company. their household held the minimum staff, and not even a governess to teach the girl, while the earl lived his life away from his family. as she grew, and her absence more noted, rumours started to swirl. that she was somehow disabled or disfigured, that she was not intelligent or sound of mind. the truth, of course, being far more sinister. rosalind was beautiful, with big green eyes and soft blonde hair, and more intelligent then most; with multiple hobbies to fill her time. but her mother, the countess of coventry, had grown paranoid. not wanting her daughter to be seen least her secret be found. that she was not, in fact, the legitimate daughter of the earl. in fact, she was not even her mother's biological child. but rapunzel could not be hidden away forever. on the year of her twenty-first birthday her father demanded she return with him to london. he was getting older and with the coventry marriage producing no other children then it was imperative that rapunzel marry and birth a son, or their title be passed to an unknown male relative. and so as the marriage season began she made her first trip to london, trunks filled with new dresses, to finally enter polite society. house of the dragon/game of thrones. born a noble daughter of house tyrell, rapunzel was taken from her highgarden crib when she was only a few days old by a rival house, seeking revenge for the actions of her family. a search party was launched, they worked day and night to find the girl, but there was no trace of her. not until a blanket was found, the one she had been wrapped in, on the banks of a vast area of water, some weeks after she had been taken. the babe was assumed lost forever, killed by her kidnappers, and the search ended.
rapunzel doesn’t remember how or why she came to call her tower home, only that it’s too dangerous to leave. she was well looked after. her caretaker, who insisted on being called mother gothel, had feed, cleaned, and educated the child. mother gothel ran the tower like a vast estate, everything had to be in its place and perfect. and as she grew rapunzel took on more responsibilities, more chores, to keep her occupied and teach her responsibilities, she has been told. mother gothel would visit less often as rapunzel aged, and the girl learnt to cook and care for herself. when she did visit she would bring new reading materials, paints, fabrics, anything to fill the girls free time. she would fill her free time with hobbies, with charting the stars in the night sky and tracking the raising sun in the morning. she would watch the changing of the seasons from her window and wonder what else is out there. why can’t she see the rest of the world?
and then suddenly, randomly, her dream came true. a stranger appearing at her window to set her free, and show her the world outside of the tower. a world of princesses and dragons, a world far more terrifying than she ever could have imagined.

TRANSFORMING. ariel is able to turn back into a mermaid during the coral moon only. so once a year she's able to transform and visit her home under the sea, this is so she can take part in the gathering of triton's daughters. however, after her daughter is put under threat and the sea is deemed unsafe ariel does not transform or visit atlantica for a number of years. once morgana is defeated and melody is safe she resumes the tradition, now bringing her daughter along with her.in any fantasy type verse, set out of tlm disney canon, where there is magic / mythical creatures then she is able to transform at will.

the earth coven. a coven of witches known for their bond to the element of earth, with a special connection to plants, flowers, and animals. earth coven witches often find their strengths in potion brewing, charms, and healing magic. as part of their elemental magic they are known to have the abilities to control and manipulate any geologic material, to control plants, trees, & grass and manipulate their growth and structure, and plant & sometimes animal communication. many members of the earth coven tend to start careers within healing and medicine, potion mastery (including brewing, selling, and creation), herbology, and magic creature zoology. lily became a member of the earth coven at the culmination of her final year of magical study, having been chosen by their head witch.
violet & carys sallow. despite having been chosen by the earth and water covens, respectively, in their youths, violet and cary are somewhat removed from the coven way of life. while there is little animosity between the earth and water covens, and it's not unheard of for their members to form romantic connections, they wanted to raise their family away from the restraints and restrictions of coven traditions. soon after their marriage the couple moved to the city of bath, where they opened a small apothecary on the cobbled streets. disguised as a florist to those who do not know the truth, it's popular among both mortals and witches alike, combining their elemental magics to produce flowers, herbs, and potions. poppy sallow. while most children would produce accidental magic throughout their childhood, before they learned how to properly control it, poppy rarely would. she was always praised as a good child, calm and well behaved. but as she aged and magic still did not show, she began to worry. her mother would tell her not to, she was just a late bloomer - it happens sometimes. it was only six months before she attended school that her magic began to show, but it was weak. she hoped it might gain strength as she learned, but not luck. and in her final year of schooling, when the time came to be accepted by the covens, she was welcomed by none. as a covenless witch she returned home to bath, where she studies as her mother's apprentice so that one day she can take over the apothecary.
